Munford’s Cecily Gable made it official on National Signing Day in the Munford High School Library. The four-year volleyball standout inked her national letter of intent to Austin Peay with her mother Bonnie by her side. Joined by her Munford Lady Cougar teammates and former coach Nina Makris and current Head Coach Angie Buchanan, Gable became the second Lady Cougar in the program’s history to sign a Division I scholarship to play volleyball. The first was her older sister Scarlet four years ago to Belmont.

Both Scarlet and Savannah Gable proceeded their younger sister Cecily in the Munford Volleyball program playing for Makris and Mike Anderson. Each year a Gable was on the Lady Cougars’ roster, Munford reach at least the Sub-State round.

Cecily has won several honors on the court including this year’s District 13-3A MVP award and being named to the All-Region 7-3A Tournament team. In the classroom, the youngest Gable has racked up awards currently in the Top 10 of her class with a 3.95 grade point average.
