MEMPHIS — Girl Scouts Heart of the South has declared Saturday, Aug. 20 to be Girl Scout Saturday! Girl Scouts are planning events around the Mid-South on that day to introduce girls and their families to the fun and adventure of Girl Scouting!
The following Girl Scout Saturday events are planned for the Greater Memphis area on Saturday, August 20, 2016:
· Girl Scout Saturday Family Fun Fair at Brighton High School – From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Brighton High School, 8045 Highway 51 in Brighton. Enjoy inflatables, snacks, face-painting and games for the whole family. Learn about Girl Scouts and register for a troop on the spot. ·Girl Scout Saturday Sign-up Event – From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Cordova Public Library, 8457 Trinity Rd. in Cordova. ·Girl Scout Saturday at the Hernando Farmers’ Market – From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the Hernando Courthouse Lawn at 2535 U.S. Highway 51. ·Girl Scout Saturday Family Fun Fair – From 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 4459 Willow Road in Memphis. Free hot dogs, snow cones, and inflatables. Fun for the whole family! ·Girl Scout Saturday Sign-up Event – From 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Anointed Temple of Praise Church at 3939 Riverdale Road. Learn about Girl Scouts and register for a troop on the spot. ·Girl Scout Information and Sign-up Event at Millington Chick-fil-A – From 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Girl Scouts and Girl Scout volunteers will be at the Chick-fil-A at 8492 Highway 51 N in Millington to meet and register new Girl Scouts.
·Girl Scout Saturday “Sip and Share” Event – From 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Southaven Library, 855 Northwest Drive in Southaven, Mississippi. Enjoy sweet drinks and snacks, learn about Girl Scouts, and register for a troop on the spot.
