Last week the Brighton Cardinals kicked off their week with a pair of one-run victories over Tipton County and district rivals the Covington Chargers. The first contest took place at Covington on April 10 with the Cardinals outlasting the Chargers 7-6. Brighton scored twice in the seventh inning to pull out the win. The following night the two teams traveled to Brighton where the Cardinals picked up a 5-4 victory. Bennett Stutts started for the Cardinals, striking out five Chargers in seven innings. But his teammate MJ Parimore picked up the win with a couple of strikeouts in the seventh inning once the Cardinals grabbed the advantage with a run in the eighth inning.
