The photo courtesy of the Millington Police Department drone illustrated the conscience and awareness of those who ventured out for the 2020 Flag City Freedom Celebration.
With those in attendance at the USA Stadium in Millington staying within the painted blocked provided by the City of Millington, the patrons who came out last Thursday night were from all towns and cities throughout West Tennessee.
Despite no Kid’s Play Zone, bounce houses and a few less food trucks, the dozens who came out July 2 enjoyed family, games they brought, a variety of music provided by Sherry Oke and the fireworks popping about 9:15 p.m.
Some in attendance were the family of sisters of Maliah Hawkins and her 5-year-old big sister Mya Webb from Drummonds. Cam Pounders, 5, of Eads chased bubbles and created a few of his own under the watchful eye of his mom.
Fraternal twins Rebekah and Ryan Harrell just recently moved to Arlington from Chapel Hill, just south of Nashville. Their family set up a picnic in their painted white square.
Others made the trip out to Millington from Bartlett, Germantown and Memphis. Others through social media came within a couple of miles of the 20-minute fireworks show organized by Pyro Show to go live.
Some of the best views outside of USA Stadium was along Highway 51 and in the nearby neighborhoods.
