One of the longest-serving physical therapy businesses in the Mid-South has a new look in Millington.

At the corner of the shopping center across the street from the Millington Walmart at 8510 Wilkinsville Road Suite 101 is Select Physical Therapy.

“We do have a lot of new people, including myself,” said Leah Ray, business development manager for West Tennessee and North Mississippi. “I just started in December. We were just lucky enough to have Courtney. We really want to get involved with the community.”

Ray, Courtney Loose (occupational therapist and center manager), William Whittington (market manager), Joseph Moser (physical therapist), Nick Butts (student physical therapist) and Amanda Yeager (patient service specialist) are some of the faces you’ll see at Select Physical Therapy in Millington.

Select has four other area locations, including Memphis at 1785 Nonconnah Blvd. Suite 120, Bartlett at 8059 Stage Hills Blvd. Suite 104, Cordova at 7865 Trinity Road Suite 108 and Southaven, Miss., at 7900 Airways Blvd. Building A Suite 2.

Back in Millington, the staff is branching out with events such as the NSA Mid-South Nautical 10-Miler and joining the Millington Area Chamber of Commerce.

Another tool for reaching out about the services available at Select has been referrals.

“We give great patient care,” Loose said. “That’s what our focus is on. Our focus is on getting the patient better, listening to the patient, communicating with the doctors on the needs of the patient. Our ultimate goal is that they leave here healthier and satisfied and that they’re pain free.”

Whittington said Select is the place to come for those in need from all ages.

“Select Physical Therapy provides multiple locations for physical and occupational therapy in the Mid-South region,” he noted. “We rehab multiple body parts from head to toe – shoulder, elbow and specific hand therapies at a couple of our locations.

“We have a wide range of patients,” Whittington continued. “You could be a part of the younger population, high school students like a high school soccer player who injured his ankle during a game. You could be somebody that is later in life like 60s or 70s who has developed persistent back pain. We also do post-operation patients like after a total knee or hip replacement.”

The team at Select Physical Therapy can also address additional medical needs for insured patients and walk-ins.

“We also treat the neurological population as well from things like balance deficit or muscle weakness,” Whittington said, “that are secondary to some of these neurological diagnoses like multiple sclerosis.”

Ray said Select will continue to fulfill its mission to provide quality service and treatment to the Mid-South and the Millington area.

“We’ve been actually pulling from Covington,” she said. “They’ve been sending folks here, especially here lately. We’ve been drawing from Munford, Brighton, Covington – not just in the Millington area. Our communities have been great to us.”

Whittington said as long as the staff at Select is pursuing the company’s mission, all involved will be satisfied.

“The Select mission statement is to provide excellent patient care while proving a culture and environment for our employees to thrive and develop in,” he concluded. “It’s a combination. If we’re achieving patient care while having happy, professionally developing employees, we’re meeting the goals of Select Physical Therapy.”
