Nick Fenney celebrates his signing to Bethel.

The Millington Trojan lineman who cleared the path for runners like D’Monte Kemp, Eldon Tyms, LeKeron Garcia, Gabe Christopher, Tommy Clifton, Keno Taylor, Justin Coleman, Robert Head and more is heading up the road to Bethel University.

Nick “Highway 51′ Fenney signed his national letter of intent today in the Millington Central High School Library.

Fenney was joined by his teammates, administrators, friends, family and Millington Trojans Head Coach Chris Michaels for the ceremony. Relatives joining Fenney were his mother Tara Maclin, Ariel Rush, Brittany Austin and grandparents Terry and Nancy Rush.

The family supported Fenney from his start in football at the age of 8 for the Memphis Patriots. The next move for the lineman was SYS for the Millington Trojans.

Prior to attending MCHS, Fenney played for the Millington Metro program. Fenney played as a freshman for the varsity team.

He saw time on the defensive and offensive line. But the No. 51 jersey was a standout on the O-line with Fenney earning All-District honors.

Fenney’s next step in football takes him to McKenzie to join the Bethel Wildcats and Head Coach Chris Elliott. The Wildcats were 7-4 last season and Bethel plays in the Mid-South Conference of the NAIA.
