The Millington Lady Trojans finally returned to the court after a long layoff.

Also the return to the court Tuesday night was a homecoming for the Lady Trojans last playing in the William Osteen Gymnasium Dec. 17.

With the motivation of just playing and having a home crowd, Millington dominated the rival Bolton Lady Wildcats 58-14 for the victory.

The Lady Trojans won the opening quarter 26-3 behind a balanced attack featuring Kayla Dotson, Micaiah Halliburton, Keria McGhee, Madison Turner and MaKenzie Chambers. Dotson led the way with 16 points.

Dotson and her perimeter mate Halliburton force steals from the Bolton guards leading to breakaway baskets. Millington had 13 steals in the first quarter. Dotson had 6 of those steals.

Then the unit of Aubrey Young, Erin Alexander, Savannah Spearman, Ayanna Ransom and Jaida Peete kept the pressure on the Lady Wildcats, limiting Bolton to 6 points in the second quarter.

Millington was ahead 48-9 at the break. Young kept the Lady Trojans flowing offensively hitting a couple of triples. She finished with 7 points. Also scoring 7 points was McGhee and Halliburton added 9 points.

The Lady Trojans won the second half of action 12-6 giving non-starters extra minutes preparing for the upcoming district tournament to be held at the William Osteen Gymnasium.
