City of Millington flags were flown at half-mast last Thursday after the passing of Madeleine Albright. Albright died in Washington D.C. on March 23. She was an American diplomat who served as the 64th United States secretary of state from 1997 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. She was the first female secretary of state in U.S. History. Albright was born May 15, 1937, in Smíchov, Prague, Czechia. She rose to power and fame as an analyst of world affairs and a White House counselor on national security. Also under Clinton, she became the country’s representative to the United Nations from 1993 to 97.
