Today, the Soul Out Ministries 10th Anniversary Community Thanksgiving Dinner is scheduled to be held at the Baker Community Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 7942 Church Street in Millington.

The creator of the event and founder of Soul Out Ministries Carol Jenkins said this year’s meal has extra special meaning to her. She recently announced this will be her last Thanksgiving-themed lunch for the community as she will move her ministry in a different direction.

“This is my last feeding after 10 years,” she said. “God has given me another assignment dealing with the youth in the two housing subdivisions in Millington. I hope we go out with a bang.”

The meal is open to all who are in need — dine in and fellowship or do take out. There will also be new shoes and clothing available.  For more information, contact Soul Out Ministries Founder Carol Jenkins at 949-1675 (donations welcomed and volunteers needed).

Other Millington holiday traditions on the horizon are the Christmas Tree Lighting and City of Millington Christmas Parade.
