Lady Cardinals district golf champs, Region set for Oct. 3

The BHS women’s golf team won the 2016 TSSAA Division I District 13-3A Golf Tournament held at Pickwick Landing Golf Course this year with a team total of 167.  Senior Aubree Jones led the Lady Cardinals with a 77 and was the low medalist and junior Tess Hendrickson (90) second low medalist for the tournament. The Hardin County girl’s golf team finished second (199) and Dyer County High School girl’s golf team third (214).  The TSSAA Division I 7-3A tournament is scheduled for Oct. 3 at PLGC starting at 9 a.m.

The Brighton High School 2016 girl’s golf team coached by Kim Greer took first place in the TSSAA Division I District 13-3A Golf Tournament held at the Pickwick Landing Golf Course on Sept. 26 with a team score of 167.

The Hardin County High School girl’s golf team finished second (199) and Dyer County High School girls took third (214). BHS senior Aubree Jones posted a 77 and was the low medalist for the tourney to win the individual crown. Brighton junior Tess Hendrickson finished second low medalist shooting a 90. “It was a really beautiful day to play golf,” Greer said. “The course was in great shape and the Hardin County golf team always does a great job coordinating the tournament with the PLGC head pro and staff.” For the boys, BHS junior Brett Wilkins fired a 77 along with Munford High senior Josh Hatfield resulting in a playoff to determine the boys low medalist for the tournament. Wilkins prevailed in a two-hole playoff to take the low medalist honors for the boys.  Dyer County took first (343), Munford second (349), Hardin County third (349) and Brighton fourth (364) for the boys team win.

The TSSAA Division I 7-3A Region Tournament is scheduled for Oct. 3 at Pickwick starting at 9 a.m.
