The Munford Lady Cougars improved to 5-2 with a win over the rival Millington Lady Trojans Friday night.

Munford posted a 51-42 victory over the Lady Trojans in the Munford Gymnasium behind the 25 points from Lady Cougar senior Robneisha “Bird” Lee.

Lee drove to the rim and made a few buckets. When the Lady Trojans started to send an extra defender Bird’s way, Lee kicked the ball out to teammates like Shalyiah Wiggins for three pointers.

Wiggins drained a pair of shots that kept the Lady Cougars ahead. Wiggins scored 13 points in the game. The leading scorer for Millington was senior Tiara Caldwell. The UT-Martin signee scored 18 points facing double- and triple-team defenses all night.

Caldwell tallied a few points on put-back basket. Her teammate Erin Clark reached double figure in the game with 11 points.
