In the true definition of a slugfest, the Millington Lady Trojans outlasted the Arlington Lady Tigers 15-14 on March 31 at Lady Trojans Field at Miles Park.
Millington sophomore Hayley Stevens had a perfect night at the plate going 5-for-5 with two singles, two doubles, and a home run. She drove in two runs in the victory. Lady Trojan senior Breanna Hulsey wouldn’t be outdone in the home run department. She also contributed significantly, hitting two singles and a homer, finishing 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
Millington’s youth movement contributed with eighth grader Alyssa Alston providing the game-winning double as part of her 3-for-4 effort. Alston added three RBIs.
Junior Riley Washburn maintained a flawless batting record on the night going 4-for-4, and senior Grace Bell added two doubles to the team’s offensive success.
