Dear Editor: We have an exciting year ahead of us! Your Senior will be making choices and plans regarding his or her post-graduation life all throughout this school year. Therefore, this will be a very busy year for them and much will be required. Beginning next week, I will give each student their copy of The Senior Handbook which includes information regarding scholarships, ACT, how to request an official transcript, the Hope Lottery Scholarship, the TN Promise and much more. Please encourage your Senior to bring this handbook home to share with you. In addition, beginning in September, the monthly Senior Newsletter will be e-mailed to all Senior parents who provide their email address to me. This monthly newsletter will be sent the 1st Monday of each month. This will be one of your resources for information regarding college representatives on campus, scholarship opportunities, FAFSA, deadlines, and other important Senior events. Another source of information for you is the school counselor web page, which can be accessed through the MCHS website. I am asking that each of you e-mail me the name of your senior in the subject line. This will enable me to have your email address for the monthly newsletters. Also, in an effort to provide seamless communication, I will be utilizing “Remind 101” to send text messages as well as e-mails.
