Memphis Goodwill Opens New Store in Covington

Memphis Goodwill Incorporated marked the opening of a new retail store in Covington, (Tipton County) with a ribbon cutting held last Thursday at the new retail store location 800 Highway 51 North in Covington. The new store will be housed in the former Dollar General location on Highway 51 N. next door to Naifeh’s Grocery.  This will be the ninth store in the Memphis Goodwill GoodNeighbor Center network. The organization also has an attended donation center in Covington just south of the store on Highway 51 North.

“We are thrilled to be opening another retail store in the greater Mid-South,” said Tony Martini, chief executive officer and president of Memphis Goodwill Inc. “We greatly appreciate the outpouring of support we’ve received from the Covington community. The residents of Covington and their generosity have made it possible for Goodwill to continue its mission of providing opportunities to those who face significant barriers to employment.”

The new store will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. There will also be a drop off donation location at the store that will be open Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, please visit www.goodwillmemphis.org.

Memphis Goodwill Industries was founded in 1927 as a territory of the nationwide Goodwill Industries movement. Today, the organization employs more than 600 people in Tennessee and Mississippi who face significant barriers to employment.
