Millington fixture Mr. Leech passes at 87

Known to many as “Millington’s Grandpa” Eugene H. Leech passed away yesterday at the age of 87. A man of many hats, Mr. Leech became a fixture in Millington with his public services and contributions to the community. Some of his former titles were Commander of the American Legion Post 252 and president of the Millington Seniors Club. 

Leech is survived by his wife, Ola Ruth Leech; son, Robert Leech (Tyann); daughters, Janet Easter (Mike) and Sharon Lenagar (James); brothers, Wayne Leech, Harold Leech and Hershel Leech; sister, Celia Biehslich (Ray); eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Joyce Leech and Wanda Leech. 

The family will receive friends Friday at the Millington Chapel from 4 – 7 p.m. and a service on Saturday at the Millington Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Trinity Cemetery in Nutbush. 

Memorials may be made to the Trinity Cemetery Association (c/o Janet Willis, 437 Preston Place Dr., Brownsville, TN 38012) or Antioch Baptist Church (9327 Tibbs Rd., Brownsville, TN 38012).
Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge.
