The Battle of Flag City on the Pitch took place Tuesday evening on the campus of Tipton-Rosemark Academy. The Rebels welcomed the Millington Trojans on Senior Night and the Trojans spoiled the event with a 4-0 victory over TRA.
The Trojans got started within the first minute with Colby Goode connecting on a goal to make the score 1-0. Goode missed out on a couple of other opportunities by hitting the bar and blasting a shot over the entire goal.
After a few athletic saves by the Rosemark keeper, Millington scored two more goals before halftime. With 13:29 remaining in the first half, Trojan Fernando Hernandez scored a goal. Then about 10 minutes later Hernandez made another shot to make the tally 3-0 at the break.
In the second half Millinton’s Timmy Alderinoye finally connected after having two attempts blocked in the first half. The Trojans won the showdown of Millington on the soccer field 4-0.
