The 2024 AA Sectional track meets concluded last week and the Millington Trojans put on a show. As a result, there are several athletes headed to the State championships at MTSU on May 23-25. The Trojans won gold in the boys 4x100m, 4x200m and 4x400m relays as well as in the long jump. The girls won gold in the Long Jump, Triple Jump and 100m dash. Only the top two finishers in each event advance and the boys 4x800m relay team as well as Evan Anderson in the 800m.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Trojans finished second in the 4x200m and just missed qualifying in the 400m dash by 0.5 seconds. Both the boys and girls finished in second place in the team standings. The boys’ team is coached by Devyn Brandon and John Cochran. The girls’ team is coached by James Edwards, Dennis Alexander, Eugene Capell and Chanitra Mitchell.
Here is a list of all of the qualifiers that are headed to Murfreesboro for a shot at some titles.
