The area’s best track athletes gathered at Bartlett High School last Friday and Saturday for Sectionals. In all the events, the top 4 would earn a spot at the State Track Meet in Murfreesboro next week. Area schools Millington, Brighton and Munford were well represented at Sectionals. The Cougars led by coaches Bernard Ivie and Thomas Walters will be heading to Middle Tennessee State University to guide the girls 4x800m relay team which qualified third with a school record time of 10:29.81. The team is made up of Linda Giffing, Maiya Reed, Ciara Spence and Hannah Callahan. And their teammate Morgan Mitchell is heading to State in two events qualifying in the High Jump and 400m.
