With his trademark smile and enthusiasm, Tipton-Rosemark Academy senior AJ Hightower walked into the lobby of the school ready to live out his dream.

On National Signing Day 2016, Hightower sported a Navy blue blazer with green bow tie ready to ink his national letter of intent to play football at Wilmington College for the Quakers and Head Coach Stacey Hairston.

Hightower’s future football home will be in Ohio playing NCAA Division III Football in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Quakers’ offense will be under the direction of new offensive coordinator Rick Worman.

Worman and Hairston have expressed to Hightower he will get a look at quarterback for the Quakers. Hightower has the ability to play any skill position on offense from quarterback to wide receiver.

After playing youth football for the Arlington Bulldogs and Ellendale Bears, Hightower joined the TRA Rebels under Head Coach Dodd Gengenbach.

Hightower finally inherited the starting QB spot his junior year leading the Rebels to the playoffs. In his senior campaign, Hightower guided TRA back to the playoffs leading the team in most offensive statistics.

Hightower earned an All-Star selection to the 2015 AutoZone Liberty Bowl High School All-Star Game. He has also received All-Region honors.
