The Memphis Metro Lady Mustangs used a big first quarter to eventually prevail over the Millington Lady Trojans 43-32 on Nov. 24 in the William Osteen Gymnasium. Memphis Metro jumped out 17-9 after one quarter. And the advantage grew to 23-11 in the second quarter. Lady Trojan Bria Barnes hit a pair of free throws to stop the Lady Mustangs run. And the highlight of the second quarter for Millington was a Tamia Aldridge block of a layup. The ratchet sparked a fast break leading to a Glenda Garner layup on the other end. Memphis Metro was ahead 26-15 at halftime and the Lady Mustangs matched Millington shot for shot in the third quarter. When Lady Trojan Tracie Clark hit a bank-shot three-pointer that made the tally 30-20 heading into the fourth quarter.

Metro outscored Millington 13-12 in the fourth quarter to maintain it’s double digit lead.
