Dr. David Algea

Primary Care Pediatrics provides healthcare for infants, children and adolescents in Millington and it’s vicinity. Dr. Janice Algea, a board-certified pediatrician, opened the medical practice lo- cated at 8081 Highway 51 North more than 14 years ago. Algea has practiced in Millington since 1983 before establishing and operating Primary Care Pediatrics. Her present staff includes Dena Warth, FNP and Stephen Wilson, PNP. With great delight, Primary Care Pediatrics announces the addition of Dr. David Algea to the practice. He is the son of doctors William and Janice Algea. “Dr. Dave” a Millington Central High graduate completed undergraduate studies at The University of Memphis earning bachelor’s degrees in Science and Fine Arts. His medical degree is from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he graduated with high honors. He completed his residency training at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital. For the past 3 years, he has worked with the Memphis based non-profit, Christ Community Health Services, which focuses both medical and spiritual care on patients who cannot afford insurance. Dave, who grew up in Shelby Forest and attended E.E. Jeter Elementary, is looking forward to returning to his hometown and serving the children of Milling- ton. He and his wife Kelly Algea have two children, William and Adeline. The board-certified pediatrician will bring additional professional experience when he begins in January, adding to the group’s 70 years of combined pediatric clinical experience. Additional staff will also mean increased availability for families. Also, in order to offer easier access to care, an acute walk-in clinic for established patients has been added each morning from 8-8:30 a.m. The clinic accepts new patients, most insurance plans and is open from  8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and plans to add additional clinic hours on Saturdays within the next few months.

By expanding services and staff, Primary Care Pediatrics hopes to continue to provide exceptional care for the children in our growing community for years to come.
