Star Staff Reports

Kroger will suspended the giving out of change in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.

Announced earlier today, the grocery store chain will no longer hand out quarters, dimes, nickels or pennies with cash transactions. Now Kroger locations will store up the monetary value of the change on loyalty cards and use the change as a deduction on the customer’s next purchase.

This change at Kroger comes as various businesses and the Federal Reserve have limited the exchange of coins and production of the form of money.
