NEWS ALERT- MMSD Announces New Leadership for the 2021-2022 School Year

Millington Municipal Schools is proud to announce the Principals for the 2021-2022 school year. Director James “Bo” Griffin announced today that he has chosen the next wave of leadership for Millington Municipal Schools. With the decommissioning of E.A. Harrold Elementary in the 2021-2022 school year, MMSD will restructure their grade banding to include three buildings:

Millington Primary School: which will serve grades PreK-3rd, Millington Intermediate School: which will serve grades 4th – 6th, and Millington Central Middle-High School: which will serve grades 7th – 12th. With the new grade banding will come a few new leaders.

Michael Perry: Millington Central Middle-High Principal

Patricia Speight: Millington Intermediate Principal

Christina Wilkerson: Millington Primary Principal

Michael Perry: Mr. Perry is a 21-year veteran in education who spent 16 years serving the families of Millington Central High School as a teacher, baseball coach, master teacher, and assistant principal. Mr. Perry rejoins MMSD after spending the past two and half years honing his instructional acumen as a Lead Instructional Coach at Bartlett City Schools where he led the instructional charge for Bartlett High School and their 9th Grade Academy. We are excited to announce that Mr. Perry will bring his vast knowledge of curriculum, instructional best practices, standardized testing, ACT preparation, and teacher development to Millington Central Middle High School in the fall of 2021.

Christina Wilkerson: Mrs. Wilkerson has spent the last 7 years serving the children of Millington, Shelby Forest, and North East Shelby County as the assistant Principal of E.E. Jeter K-8 school in Millington, TN.  Before her tenure as a building level administrator, Christina served the students of E.E. Jeter as a 4th and 5th grade teacher. She holds a  in Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Memphis. We are proud to have another Millingtontonian come back into the fold to lead and guide the wonderful children of our great Municipality.

Patricia Speight: Mrs. Speight, an educational veteran with over 21 years of education experience, will continue her tenure as a building level Principal within Millington Municipal schools. With her expertise in primary and middle grades, Mrs. Speight will help Millington Intermediate School teachers propel our students to the next level of accomplishments. Mrs. Speight has served the children of West, TN as a teacher, Assistant Principal, College Instructor and Coach. We are happy to have her continue her tenure with our district in this new position.
