Last Friday night, the Tiipton-Rosemark Academy Lady Rebel fifth and sixth grade team played Lausanne. The Lady Rebels dedicated the game to the memory of the late Lauren Moody. The players wore purple bands on their jerseys. It was a really close game at the end. Hal time the score was 14-6. The Lady Rebels were in the lead and Kirsten Throckmorton scored 10 points on the first half. In the third quarter, Lausanne made a come back to make the score 14-12. Then TRA made a basket to make the lead 16-12. Lausanne eventually tied the game at 16-16. Throckmorton had a chance to give her team the lead with an one-and-one at the free-throw line. It appeared she missed her opportunity but with  a lane violation Throckmorton got a second chance at the line. “So I got another shot,” she recalled. “There was 22.9 seconds left in the fourth quarter when I made the last free throw. The score was 17-16.  We beat them.”

As a bonus to the Lady Rebels’ victory, the players had a chance to take a picture with Memphis Grizzlies star Zach Randolph.
