The Millington Trojans finally returned home for the first time in 2026 and welcomed the preseason district favorite the Fayette-Ware Wildcats to town.
The Trojans had some lineup adjustments and changes for the home crowd in the William Osteen Gymnasium. Millington was competitive with the Wildcats only trailing 25-22 at the break. Then Fayette-Ware created some separation in the third quarter outscoring Millington 19-8 and the Wildcats won the final period 22-6 to prevail 66-36.
The Trojans fell behind 18-12 after one quarter and Millington rallied back with a 10-4 run in the second quarter to deadlock the game at 22-22. After Wildcat forward Elijah Lowe threw down a slam to make the score 22-17, Trojan guard Darryl McDonald hit a three-pointer to make the score 22-20. Then Millington big man Javohn Jackson scored on a put-back bucket to tie the game.
Before halftime Wildcat point guard Jacorey Stanley hit a three-pointer to give Fayette-Ware a 25-22 advantage.
In the third quarter Stanley was joined by teammates Kylen Terry and Cash Williams in making perimeter shots. The Wildcats crept ahead 44-30 after the third quarter.
Then Fayette-Ware won the final 8 minutes 22-6 to leave Flag City victors.
