JOSEPH HARRISON CRAIG
Joseph Harrison Craig, affectionately known as “Pawpaw” and “Papa Joe”, was born on February 24, 1934, and passed away peacefully in the evening hours of April 11, 2020. On this day, Joe Craig, grabbed his hat, put on his boots, and tightened his larger-than-life belt buckle around his waist for the last time, and began assisting the Lord in wrangling cattle on a thousand hills. Joseph Craig is survived by a multitude of family members who loved him dearly. Among these are his children Carol Craig-Clark and her husband Tom Clark; David Webb and his wife Teri Webb; Delane Webb Carter; and Doug Webb. Two especially important family members are JJ Rutledge and Carey Elder, grandchildren that Joe adored like his own children, and their spouses Donna Rutledge and Shadd Elder. His legacy continues with his grandchildren Jeni Davis and her husband Jeremy Davis; Erin “Ethel” Sinquefield and her husband Josh Sinquefield; and Taylor Clark. The love spread through to his great-grandchildren Brandon Gurley; Katie, Josh and Jacob Rutledge; Noah and Peter Davis; and Webb and Henry Sinquefield. He is sadly preceded by his parents Sydney and Emma Lou Craig; his loving wife Ann Moss Craig; his sisters Betty Molder and Sue Hawkins; and his nephew and namesake, Joe Hawkins. Joe Craig was a genuine cowboy who raised cattle and horses his entire life and was a real, and honest man, no matter what. He was loyal to his two favorite places on Earth, Big Creek Baptist Church and El Toro Taco from start to finish. I hope that all who knew him can truly appreciate the trail of memories Joe Craig left for us all.
