ANTHONY LAVELL FEATHERSON SR.
Anthony Lavell Featherson, Sr., 49, passed away July 30, 2020. Visitation will be held at Aug. 15 at Millington Funeral Home in Millington. Graveside services to follow at New Park Cemetery in Memphis. Millington Funeral Home, Inc., had charge.

FRED WALLACE HEMME
Fred Wallace Hemme, 73, born March 26, 1947 in Laverne, OK, died August 2, 2020. He leaves his wife of 43 years, Cecilia O’Neal Hemme; children, Michelle R. Hemme of Phelps, Wis., Gregory Wallace Hemme of Tulsa, Okla. and Douglas Donovan Hemme of Surprise, Ariz.; siblings, Vera Freeman, Edward Hemme of Durango, Colo., and Rachel Elaine Miller of Elgin, Okla.; many nieces and nephews that he was fond of and helped care for them; grandchildren, Jessica Reinke of Fond Du Lac, Wis., Aidan Hemme and Gavin Wallace Hemme of Tulsa, John Francis Hemme, Amelia Quinn Hemme and Margaret Eileen Hemme of Surprise, and Christine Hemme; seven great-grandchildren. He attended college earning an Associate’s Degree and served in the U.S. Navy for 26 years, most of the time on aircraft carriers. He retired in March of 1995. He then became a photographer for the Asset Protection Company. He then started another career as an 18-wheel, over the road truck driver, first out of Dallas, American Eagle and then out of Ark., for Watkins. He was a proud lifetime member of the NRA; a lifetime member of the American Legion Elvis Presley Unit; a member of the Fleet Reserve Association. He is a member of St. William Catholic Church in Millington. He just finished a year of weekly Adoration every Sunday night at St. Louis Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his son, Fred William Hemme who died on active duty in the Navy; his grandsons, Kyle Thorp and Robert Thorp; sister, Nellie Lloyd; brothers, Joe Hemme, Milburn Hemme, Virgil Ray Hemme and Tommy Hemme; mother, Roxie Stapp Hemme and father, James Hemme. The American Legion service was held Aug. 5 and the Rosary was read at the Millington Chapel. Additional services took place Aug. 7 at Christ the King Church in Tulsa with interment in Calvary Cemetery next to his wife’s grandmother. Fitzgerald’s Funeral Home had charge of services in Tulsa.

ARIE MAE HOUSTON
Arie Mae Houston, 91, passed away Aug. 4, 2020. Visitation was held Aug. 7 at Millington Funeral Home in Millington. Graveside service was held Aug. 8 at Shiloh MB Church Cemetery in Byhalia, Miss. Millington Funeral Home, Inc., had charge.

PATRICIA VAN TASSELL
Patricia Van Tassell, 82, of Millington, passed away Aug. 2, 2020. She was a Marine, a member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed reading, painting, golfing and crocheting. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard Earl Van Tassell; daughter, Amanda (Ron) Suzore of Bartlett; sons, Richard (Terri) Van Tassell, II of Myrtle, Miss., and Scott (Donna) Van Tassell of Wana, W.V.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorials be made to the Scottish Rite. Service was held Aug. 6 at Millington Chapel in Millington with interment in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis. Munford Funeral Home had charge.
