JAMES ‘JIM’ VIRGIL ALRIGHT

James “Jim” Virgil Albright, 78, passed away July 28, 2024. He was born November 29, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan to his late parents, Virgil and Margaret Albright. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, an active member of the VFW, and had a strong passion to help homeless veterans. He organized many fundraisers and clothes drives to assist veterans with getting back into the workforce. Jim founded the Bulls and Bears Investment Club in Hot Springs Village. Jim fought for our country in the Vietnam War serving in the United States Air Force. After returning home, he attended the University of Michigan. He worked in the air freight industry in sales management, and upon retirement, Jim and Bev moved to Hot Springs Village, Ark. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Beverly McDaniel Albright; two nephews, David McDaniel and Russell McDaniel, both of Brighton, Tennessee; four great nephews; one great niece; and ten great-great nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, George Albright. Graveside services with military honors was held at Salem Cemetery in Atoka, Aug. 5.

JIMMY FLOYD BALLARD

Jimmy Floyd Ballard, 80, of Millington, died on July 23, 2024, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Memphis. He was born on December 27, 1943, in New Madrid, Mo. to the late Jasper and Louise Haimes Ballard. After High School Jimmy enlisted in the United States Army. While serving our country he was a Top shooter and a Vietnam War veteran. He was an entrepreneur/self-starter, a master mechanic, truck driver, and previously owned four bars before retiring. He is preceded in death by his parents; Jasper and Louise Ballard, sister; Charlotte Thigpen, and brother brother; Sherrill Ballard. Mr. Ballard is survived by his daughters; Darla Hale (David), Dayna Jones (Henry), sons; Jimmy Ballard (Amy), Michael Ballard (Jordan), brother; Jerry Ballard (Barbara),  grandchildren; Devan Molder, Darrah Moore, Cooper Jones, Ty Jones, Jack Jones, Olivia Jones, Ben Ballard, and Savannah Sager, great grandchildren; Aubrey Molder, with another one expected soon. A gathering of family and friends was held Aug. 2 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, in Millington.  A celebration of life service was in the Chapel of Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home. Interment followed in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.

BARBARA ENNIS

Barbara Ennis, 63, of Brighton, passed away on July 29, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital-Bartlett after a brief illness. Barbara was a self employed graphic artist and the proud owner of the Workwear Outlet in Henning. Funeral services were held Aug. 1 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery.  The family received friends two hours prior to the service at the Covington Funeral Home.  

LILLIE MAE ELIZABETH HOLLIS 

Lillie Mae Elizabeth Hollis, 93, passed away July 29, 2024. The family received friends Aug. 3 at Apostolics of Drummonds Church until the service. Interment followed in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Batesville, Miss.

BARBARA A. MEYER-HOWARD

Barbara A. Meyer-Howard of Millington, gained her Angel Wings on July 21, 2024 at Millington Healthcare in Millington. Family and friends gathered to celebrate her life on Aug. 2 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, in Millington. A Celebration of Life Service followed in the Chapel of Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to Paws & Claws or Tipton County Animal Shelter.
