ROBERT BRADLEY EPPLEY

Robert Bradley Eppley, 84, retired letter carrier for USPS passed away December 18, 2021. The family received friends at the Millington Chapel on Dec. 21. Mr. Eppley was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, a Navy veteran, loved to build and fly model airplanes, was a devout Christian and was always known by his kids as Mr. Fix-It. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Lynn Eppley. He is survived by his wife, Edith Maxine Eppley; daughters, Kimberly Ann Rose (Derek) and Rhonda Sue Erwin (Mike); sons, Ralph Edward Scott (Janice) and Paul Gregory Scott; brother, William James Eppley (Nancy); two grandkids, Jason G. Scott (Maurina) and Lincoln C. Harkin; two great-grandkids, Katherine June Scott and Jacob Bradley Scott. The family asks memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge. 

REXFORD M. HIBBARD II 

Rexford M. Hibbard II, 65, stationary engineer, passed away December 20, 2021. He was a member of New Hope Christian Church, the VFW and served 23 years in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his father, Rexford M. Hibbard and is survived by his wife, Penny Ann Crossett Hibbard; sons, Wayne Ryan Hibbard of Millington, and Scott Patrick Hibbard (Laura) of Bartlett; mother, Jane Lorraine Reynolds Hibbard of Athens, Pa.; sisters, Cheryl Hibbard Allen of Lake Alfred, Fla., Sue Hibbard Lynch of Winter Haven, Fla., Karen Hibbard Allen of Athens, Pa., Mary Hibbard Wallner of Anderson, S.C. and LuAnn Hibbard Raupers of Athens, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family received friends Dec. 29 until the memorial service at Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge. 

JACK HUFFMAN

Jack Huffman, 90, of Millington, passed away December 19, 2021. The family received friends Dec. 22 until the service at the Millington Chapel. Interment followed in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. Jack was born and raised in Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corp having been honorably discharged after two years of service during the Korean conflict. He retired from the City of Millington as the Public Works Director with 50 years of service. Prior to joining the City of Millington, he worked for the Tipton County Highway Department. Jack is a 50-year member of Millington Masonic Lodge No. 671 and a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. During the 1960’s he was named the Millington Junior Chamber’s Man of the Year and was inducted into the Millington Chamber of Commerce Hall of Honor in 2010. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Sweet Sorghum Association. He is a member of the Millington First United Methodist Church and previously served as a member of the Board of Trustees, member of the Administrative Board, and is a Past President of the Methodist Men’s Club. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Betty Pitts Huffman; daughter, Bethany K. Huffman of Millington; many nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: William Vernon Huffman, Sr. and Thelma Marshall Huffman; siblings, Norma Helene Huffman Spencer, William Vernon (Bud) Huffman, Jr., Geraldine Huffman Rhodes, Wilma Huffman Mills, June Amanda Huffman Trotter, his twin sister Jean Huffman Strong, Peggy Ann Huffman, Marshall Coleman Huffman, Sr., Charles Swayne Huffman, Sr. The family requests any memorials be made to Millington First United Methodist Church. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge. “Grateful for the unconditional love, the humor, the common sense, the life lessons and your loyalty to family and friends. You were the last of this Huffman generation and all of us will carry that legacy with honor and pride. You will be missed each and every day but know you’re resting eternally and that brings us all peace. ” — daughter Bethany Huffman

GLADYS R. THOMPSON

Gladys R. Thompson, 81, of Millington, passed away on December 16, 2021 at Methodist Hospital North. There was viewing for Mrs. Thompson on Dec. 29 with a memorial service at Jefferson Mortuary, Inc., in Millington. Interment followed at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery, in Millington. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge.
