JIMMIE ‘RICK’ ALSBROOK
Jimmie “Rick” Alsbrook, 72, of Drummonds, passed away December 21, 2020. The family asks any memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org

RUSSELL S. ALLEN
Russell S. Allen, born March 2, 1927 passed away December 19, 2020 peacefully after a brief hospice comfort care in Orange Park, Fla. He grew up around Giltedge, and lived on Lucy Road in Millington, for 58 years before moving to Florida earlier this year. Russell was a WWII veteran, an avid ballroom dancer, guitarist, percussionist, fisherman and hunter. He also painted cars as a hobby as well as having built his own sports car in the 60’s. Russell was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Sutorus of Millington, and leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia Allen, his children, James (Pamela) Allen of Clyde, Texas and Elizabeth (Michael) Sutorus of Green Cove Springs, Fla., sister, Betty Scott, sister-in-law, Judy Arnett, a wealth of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

CHARLES STEVEN CARR
Charles Steven Carr, 72, of Munford, passed away December 13, 2020. The family received friends Dec. 16 until the service at the Munford Chapel. Interment followed in Helen Crigger Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel had charge.

CARMEL ANNE ‘CANDY’ CULLUM
Carmel Anne “Candy” Cullum, 63, of Millington passed away December 1, 2020 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis. There was a graveside service at Helen Crigger Cemetery on Dec. 21. Munford Funeral Home-Munford Chapel, had charge.

RONDA WYNETTE JOHNSON
Ronda Wynette Johnson, 62, of Munford, passed away on December 16, 2020 at Methodist North Hospital. The family received friends Dec. 22 at Munford Baptist Church until the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Munford Baptist Church, in Munford.

CHARLOTTE EMMA LARSON
Charlotte Emma Larson, 97, went to her heavenly home December 18, 2020 in Jackson, Missouri. She was born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, the first child of Albert and Theresa Pittway on May 16, 1923. She enlisted in the Navy May 27, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas she met Elmer (Bill) Larson, who was also in the Navy. They married January 5, 1945. She was discharged from the Navy March 2, 1945 and she and Bill transferred to Columbus, Ohio. They were then stationed in San Diego, California, Millington, Tennessee, Trinidad, Panama Canal Zone and then back to Millington, where Bill retired. Charlotte was active in scouting with all of her children. She and her husband were also active in Eastern Star for many years at the Millington Chapter. She worked many years as an Elizabeth Arden consultant at Goldsmiths Department store and later as a China and Crystal Consultant also at Goldsmiths in downtown Memphis. Her greatest joy after raising her family was teaching Sunday school, which she continued to do until she was unable at 96 years of age. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Trygve) Honaas, daughter in law Janice Larson, and grandchildren Loren (Susy) Honaas, Derek Honaas and fiancée Melanie, Tressa (Pat) Watson and Karl (Dawn) Honaas, Rachel (Aaron) Boland, Margaret (Jay) Hinrichs, Chris Harman, Erika (Lee) Collins, Mathew and Daniel Larson, and great grandchildren Lola and Ivan Honaas, Mary Elizabeth Boland, Faith, Emma and Braydon Larson, and Remi McDaniel. She was proceeded in death by her husband Bill, and her sons Peter and Mark Larson. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, services will be announced at a later date when gathering is safe. Arrangements will be made through the Munford Funeral Home, Millington Chapel.

EMRA M. ‘BUD’ OATES
Emra M. “Bud” Oates, 89, of Millington, passed away December 15, 2020. A graveside service was held Dec. 19 at Bethel Cemetery in Atoka.

PAUL MICHAEL O’CONNOR
Paul Michael O’Connor – USMC ret., 78, of Millington, passed away December 12, 2020. He served in the US Marine Corps for 25 years, is a communicant of St. William Catholic Church in Millington, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the NRA and the National Model Railroad Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ann Taylor O’Connor, brother David Joseph O’Connor of Pa., and parents Ora and Edward O’Connor, of Pa. He is survived by sister Judy O’Connor of Pa.; brother Daniel O’Connor of Pa.; daughters Margaret Ann Everroad of Arlington, Rene Hughes Delashmit of Byhalia, Miss., Julie Marie Morganelli of Atoka, Anne Marie O’Connor Schwartz of Pa.; sons, Perry Bryce Hughes of Texas, Paul Michael O’Connor Jr. of PA, Thomas Edward O’Connor of Pa.; 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral mass and rite of committal will be held January 14, 2021 at 11:00 am in Millington followed by a procession to West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery and a Marine Corps Honor Ceremony at 1:15 p.m.

MARY FRANCES WEAVER PRICE
Mary Frances Weaver Price, 78, of Bartlett, passed into the arms of Jesus on December 22, 2020 due to complications from dementia. Mary was born on April 8, 1942 in Crane, Mo., to Earl C. and Lola Barnhart Weaver. She graduated from Crane High School and earned a BA degree from the University of Arkansas. Mary later earned a master’s degree from Bethel University in McKenzie. Mary grew up on a farm in Missouri and loved horses, dogs, and cats. She had an encouraging and happy disposition. She was a high school cheerleader, majorette in the band, and a clarinet player. Mary loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. She also loved sports including the Arkansas Razorbacks football team and the Memphis Tigers basketball team. When Mary watched Arkansas football games on TV, she could sometimes be heard calling the hogs from her living room with a “Wooooooooo. Pig. Sooie!” She moved to the northern part of Memphis, in the late 1960’s along with her husband David R. Price. In the early 1970’s she started teaching at Millington Central High School in Millington, TN. Mary was a teacher, girls track team head coach, and eventually the senior guidance counselor during her tenure there. She loved coaching the girls track teams and led some of the great athletes to several state track meets. Mary also enjoyed keeping the official score book during some of the girls and boys high school basketball games. Eventually she retired from Millington High in 2012. Mary was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and great aunt. She loved her family and was a wonderful provider. She is survived by her husband, David R. Price; sons, David W. Price and Tom Price and his wife Malisa; her grandsons, Saylor Price, Philip Price, and Jack Price; sister, Geraldine Barnhart McMahon; niece, Diana McMahon; and great nephews, Matt McMahon and Zak McMahon.

MAXIMUS EDWARD PICHLER
Maximus Edward Pichler, 18, of Atoka, passed away December 15, 2020. He is survived by his parents Edward “Ted” Pichler and Joyce Pichler; sisters, Kaylie Baker and Rebecca Potter; brother, Sean Potter. Maximus was a avid motocross racer and a graduate of Munford High School Class of 2020. Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel had charge.

SIDNEY BERNARD ‘TINKER’ TALLEY JR.
Sidney Bernard Talley, Jr., “Tinker,” 72, of Millington, died and went to his heavenly home on December 16, 2020. A private graveside service was held at West Union Cemetery in Millington. In lieu of flowers, please make any memorial donations to St. Jude.
