GERALD L. BERRY SR.
Mr. Gerald L. Berry, Sr., 67, of Drummonds, passed away January 21, 2021 at Methodist Hospital North in Memphis. There was a walk through viewing for Mr. Berry on Jan. 30 at Jefferson Mortuary, Inc., in Millington. Interment will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, in Memphis. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge.

BILLY RAY BOWERS
Billy Ray Bowers, 93, of Millington, went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2021. He was born in Jackson, Miss., on November 20, 1927 to Leonard and Opal Bowers and lived in Hornbeak, before moving to Millington in 1946 when his father was called as pastor of First Baptist Church. Bill graduated from Millington Central High School in 1947 and proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. He had a long and successful career as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Millington for more than 35 years. His love for Millington was evident in the numerous ways he led in his community including his work with the USA Olympic baseball team. Bill was one of the finest Christians anyone could know, and his loving disposition was a source of strength and comfort to all who knew him. He was a gentle, unassuming man who made a difference in this world. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and leader in several ministries. He loved his family deeply and was happiest when they surrounded him. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy and his brother, Leonard, and parents. He is survived by his daughter, Leigh Ann; son, Chester (Cindy); brother, Claude (Faye); grandchildren, Kelly Bowers, Kyle Bowers, Micah Bowers, Blair Bowers Chunn, Mark Garrett and John Garrett. The family received friends Jan. 28 at the Millington Chapel until the service. Interment followed in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. Rev. Greg Bowers, his nephew will officiate.

ELOISE JONES CAMPBELL
Eloise Jones Campbell, 100, of Millington, went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2021. Eloise was born on November 20, 1920 to Grover Cleveland Jones and Emma Morellie Wilkes Jones in Franklin TN. She was the last surviving of the 5 siblings. Due to difficult times during the depression the Jones’ children were placed in a Nashville orphanage where they remained until their late teenage years. Upon leaving Nashville, Eloise moved to Florida where she worked in the photo lab at the Pensacola Naval Base during WWII. She married her former husband Ernest Ray Campbell and they were blessed with five children. The military took them to numerous places in the United States and abroad. Eloise is survived by her son, Douglas Ray Campbell (Terri) of Byhalia, Miss., and her daughter Joanne Campbell Dewis of Pensacola Fla., 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her sons Gene Campbell of Munford and Robert Campbell of Millington, her daughter Betty Jo Campbell Bowers of Memphis and her infant granddaughter Drena Lynette Bowers. Eloise was a member of Millington Church of Christ. She attended there from 1963 until age and medical conditions kept her homebound. She read and studied the Bible daily and taught her children to love the Lord. The family of Eloise Campbell would like to extend our special thanks to Linda, Betsy, Erica, Lisa, Dorothy and others of Crossroads Hospice of Memphis for their loving kindness and compassionate care shown to mother during the past 2 years. And to Rainbow Rehab of Bartlett where Eloise was a resident since 2012. Special thanks to Al who planned and coordinated the recent 100th Birthday “Drive By” celebration, and to all who helped in our mother’s care. The Lord blessed our mother with 100 years of life on this earth and we will cherish those memories until we, as believers in Jesus Christ, see her again. FREDDIE HAROLD CLEEK
Freddie Harold Cleek, 86, of Millington passed away January 21, 2021 at his home. He was a retired loading checker for Kimberly Clark after 37 years, was a Army Veteran and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Freddie was a great husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Madie Cleek; eight grandchildren, Devin Cleek, Miranda Cleek, Crystal & Kristin Cleek, Dee Clark, Wes Palmer, Rachel Palmer and Russell Palmer; and seven great-grandchildren, Raylan Cleek, Zoey Mick, Isabella Hursh, Alexander Hursh, Lilith Cleek, Aiden Palmer and Austin Clark. He was preceded in death by his son Alan Cleek; parents, Fred and Mary Cleek; and one sister, Peggy Jean Daniels. The family received friends until the service January 30 all at Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel. Interment followed in Quito Memorial Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge.

HERMAN MELVIN DOWELL
Herman Melvin Dowell, 85, of Atoka, passed away January 24, 2021. Visitation was held at the Millington Funeral Home on Jan. 29, Millington Funeral Home had charge.

REBECCA DANETTE McDOW HACKLER
Rebecca Danette McDow Hackler, 56, of Munford, passed away on January 22, 2021 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis. Funeral services for Danette were conducted Jan. 26 in Munford at Munford Funeral Home. Graveside service followed at Covington Memorial Gardens in Covington.

NORMA FAYE ARTHUR KENNEDY
Norma Faye Arthur Kennedy, 84, of Munford, passed away on January 25, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation was held Jan. 28, followed by the funeral service at the Munford Funeral Home Chapel. Internment was at Helen Crigger Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home in Munford was in charge of arrangements. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospitals.

ARTHUR ALPHOUSE LAVALLEE
Arthur Alphouse Lavallee, 85, passed away on January 8, 2021. Arthur was a devoted husband and father. He believed in working hard to provide for his family. He served 23 years in the U.S. Navy as a Master Chef aboard many Naval Ships and on land. Art enjoyed bowling with his wife, Janet and also carpentry. He loved to make special dinners and holiday meals that were always delicious as they were prepared with love and his special ingredients and from the heart. Art was preceded in death by his wife of, 64 years, Janet Lavallee ; one son, Joseph Lavallee and one daughter, Lisa Lavallee. He leaves two sons and one daughter; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters and one brother. Graveside services were held Jan. 27 at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington.

JO EVA HURD LOWERY
Jo Eva Hurd Lowery, 93, passed away January 23, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Lowery; daughter, Linda Jo Howard; sisters, Bobbie Davis and Billie Newman; grandchild, Reed Guy Lowery; great-grandchild, Cody Hallford. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry E. Campbell of Covington, and Susan Lowery Lewis of Millington; son, James F. Lowery, Jr. (Ann) of Holly Springs, Miss.; brothers, John Hurd (Sandy) of Navarre, Fla., and Walker Hurd of Bartlett; six grandchildren, Renee Howard of Robertsdale, Ala., Greg Howard (Machelle) of Oxford, Miss., Lori Cannon of Millington, Chad Boggan (Kristi) of Oxford, Miss., Andy Campbell of Covington, James Ross Lowery (Erica) of Wichita Falls, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. The family received friends Jan. 29 at the Millington Chapel until the service. Interment followed in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge.

Loy E. Milligan, 87, of Millington, passed away January 25, 2021. Services will be held at a later date. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge.

PATSY ANN STARNES
Patsy Ann Starnes, 72, of Drummonds, passed away at her home January 24, 2021 surrounded by her family. A visitation was held Jan. 30 with services on Jan. 31, all at Munford Funeral Home-Munford Chapel. Interment followed at Helen Crigger Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Simonton Assembly of God Church or Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Munford Funeral Home had charge.

SHAWN MICHAEL ‘BULL’ THOMPSON
Shawn Michael “Bull” Thompson, 51, passed away January 23, 2021 after a brief illness. The family received friends Feb. 1 at the Millington Chapel with a service Feb. 2 at the Millington Chapel. Interment followed in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington. The family asks any memorials be made to a mental health organization or charity of your choice. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel.

OTTIE F. WATSON
Ottie F. Watson, 85, of Millington, passed away on January 25, 2021. No service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Journey Church, 3719 Shelby Road, Millington, TN 38053.
