Herbert Wayne Hartley, 85, of Millington, passed away July 21, 2020. The family received friends July 23 with a service July 24 all at the Millington Chapel. James Dennis Hodges, 76, of Millington passed away on July 17, 2020. Lt. Hodges retired in 1991 from the Memphis Police Department after serving 25 years. He also served his country in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965 and was the former owner of Shelby Forest General Store. He also worked 12 years as a Federal Court Security Officer at the Federal Building in Memphis. James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mildred Hodges. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Brenda J. Hodges; 3 children, Ricky Hodges (Alice), Todd Hodges (Melissia) and Susan Jolly; nine grandchildren, Ryne, Calvin, Nathan and Caden Hodges, Jacob Schorr, Aaron, Ben, Marianna and Lydia Mobley; also one great- grandson Jude Hodges and one sister, Diane Tully. The family request that memorials are made to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Memphis Police Association Benevolence Fund. Visitation was held July 22 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home in Millington with the funeral service held later that day in the same location.

There will be a walk through viewing on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 11-11:55 a.m. with a memorial service at noon at Jefferson Mortuary, Inc., 7788 Church Street, Millington. Interment will follow at I.P.B. No. 8 Society Cemetery in Millington on Navy Road. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge.

Maj. William “Bill” Ramberg, USMC ret., 78, of Millington, passed away July 18, 2020. He was a member of the VFW, MOAA, USO, Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca M. Ramberg; daughter, Cheryle Hanks of Jacksonville, NC; sons, David Ramberg of San Antonio, Texas, Mathew Ramberg of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Christopher Ramberg of Columbus, Miss.; sister, Glenda Hugues of Tampa, Fla.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
