ROBERTY ‘BOB’ MICHAEL ADAMS
Robert “Bob” Michael Adams, 73, passed away on June 25, 2026. He was born on June 5, 1953, in Mineola, New York. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Marie Adams, and his parents-in-law, Carl and Martha Pine. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Carleen Pine Adams, whom he married on July 20, 1986, in Silver Spring, Maryland; his sons, Sean Adams and Brett Adams; his sister, Lorraine (Jim) Cappelli; his sister-in-law, Jean Pine; his nieces, Melissa (Scott) Deaux-Evanietz and Amy Cappelli Dorn; and his nephews, Paul Deaux and Greg Cappelli. Bob is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews. Bob spent 42 years as a civilian employee with Commander, Naval Installations Command, where he supported recreational facilities at naval bases around the world. He retired in 2019 after a rewarding career that allowed him to travel extensively, including assignments in Japan, the Philippines, Guam, and Iceland. Bob was a devoted husband and father. He wholeheartedly supported his sons in all of their activities and, whether he originally planned to or not, became a coach for many of the sports they played, including basketball, soccer, and, most importantly, baseball. Bob also supported his wife in everything she pursued, including assisting with PTA activities and later serving as a board member of the Pine Family Foundation, where she serves as president. Bob was an avid sports fan and remained a loyal supporter of the Washington Commanders, formerly the Redskins, and the Baltimore Orioles. After moving to the Millington area, he also became a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. The family receive friends on July 6 until the service at Munford Funeral Home, Millington Chapel. Interment took place on July 8 at Collegedale Memorial Cemetery in Collegedale.
GREGORY V. BATTS
Gregory V. Batts, 66 of Millington, passed away on June 19, 2026 at St. Francis Hospital – Park. There was a visitation for Mr. Batts on July 1 at Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. – Chapel, in Millington. There was additional viewing for Mr. Batts on July 2 with his funeral service at Little John Missionary Baptist Church, in Memphis. Interment followed at Pleasant Rest Memorial Gardens, in Millington.
DURWIN KEITH BUFORD
Durwin Keith Buford, 61 of Atoka, passed away on June 26, 2026. There was a viewing for Mr. Buford on July 3 with his funeral service at Mt. Tipton CME Church, in Brighton. Interment followed at Mt. Tipton Cemetery, Brighton. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge.
DENNIS ‘POPPY’ BUMGARDNER
Dennis Bumgardner “Poppy”, 73, passed away June 26, 2026. In his service at Gateway, he ministered in many roles as a coach, bus captain, and mentor to multitudes of children and young adults. He was a loyal and proud member of Local IBEW 474 for more than 50 years. Funeral service was held July 2 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home.
PAULA JEAN CLARKSON
Paula Jean Clarkson, 79, passed away on June 24, 2026. Graveside services were held July 1 in Helen Crigger Cemetery in Munford. Munford Funeral Home had charge.
GREGORY DALE KING
Gregory Dale King, 64, of Munford, passed away on June 24, 2026. Family and friends were invited to celebrate Gregory’s life at Munford Funeral Home – Munford Chapel. Visitation was held on June 30 until the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association. Gregory will be remembered for his love of family, his generous spirit, his gift for storytelling, and the many memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love and friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
JANINE LAUREN LAMBERT
Janine Lauren Lambert, 50, of Drummonds, passed away on June 22, 2026 after a lengthy illness. She was an in-home caregiver. The family is very thankful for the Gentiva Hospice team, especially her nurse, Cindy Ralph, Chaplain Jessie Hopkins and case manager, Shelby Smith. Cremation services were under the direction of Covington Funeral Home with a private memorial service to be held at a later date.
