PAUL G. CURLIN
Paul G. Curlin, 90, of Millington, passed away June 2, 2021. Mr. Curlin was retired from DuPont after 39 and half years, served in the Korean War, was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Lion’s Club, the Jaycees, Goat Days committee and was past member on the Planning Commission for the city of Millington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Curlin and his parents, Mary Thelma (Loft) Curlin and Paul Edd Curlin. He is survived by his daughter, Paula Curlin (Joe) Hillman of Lucy; sisters, Mary Zane Delancey of Hot springs Village, Ark., Peggy Christal of Memphis, and Nancy Estes of Chattanooga. The family received friends June 5 with a service June 6, all at the Millington Chapel. Interment followed in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. The family asks memorials be made to First United Methodist Church Millington, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (StJude.org) or the Leukemia Foundation (donate.lls.org). Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge.

RAMSEY O. ELKOUZ
Ramsey O. Elkouz, 29, auto store manager passed away June 1, 2021. The family received friends June 11 with a service June 12 all at the Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel in Millington. Interment followed in New Salem Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge.

ANGELA RENEE GILLIAM
Angela Renee Gilliam, 33, passed away June 4, 2021. Visitation will be held June 19 at Historical First Baptist Church located at 4284 Shelby Road in Millington from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. The funeral service will start 11 a.m. Interment will be held at Pleasant Rest Memorial Gardens located at 6277 Raleigh Millington Road in Millington. Millington Funeral Home had charge.

JOE R. HALES
LTC Joe R Hales, U.S. Army retired, 81 passed away at home in Millington on June 3, 2021, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on May 31, 1940 in Webb, Miss., to Russell and Wilma Burk Hales. Joe was a retired U.S. Army officer, a 32nd Degree Mason and a Master Electrician. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel having served his country for over three decades in the United States Marine Corps, Tennessee National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve. Joe was most proud of having earned the coveted U.S. Army Ranger tab (as a Winter Ranger) and serving as an Infantryman. He was part of the construction crew for the Memphis Coliseum and worked for many years as Senior Electrician Inspector for Shelby County. Joe loved sending and receiving mail. He regularly sent letters with updates about his gardening adventures, animal sightings, tractors, guitars, and family gatherings. Joe enjoyed attending Elvis Week at Graceland and never met a stranger. He leaves behind dear friends in Australian France England and other locations all over the world. Joe’s classmates from Tate High School 1958 graduating class in Cantonment, Fla., will miss him organizing their periodic “Get To-Gather” events and the numerous pictures that followed each one. Joe stressed the value of higher education to everyone he knew. He graduated from University of Memphis for his bachelor’s and Trevecca Nazarene College for his master’s. He was thrilled with the numerous and professional certifications and licenses earned by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Wilma Burk Hales; his sister, Mamie Ruth Preslar (William) and his brother, Bobby (Shirley) . He is survived by his wife of 50 plus years, Judy Hales; his daughters, Cynthia “CJ” Buche (Joe), Cathy Sherman (Roger) and Susan Holt (Randy)and his son, Joe Hales II (Diana), and brothers Rex and Michael Hales. He was “Papaw’ to 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. The family received friends until the service time at the Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel. Interment with full military honors was in Helen Crigger Cemetery in Munford. Joe request that in lieu of flowers, family and friends bring a live plant then take it home to plant after the service.

JOHN DANIEL ‘DANNY’ HOLMES
John Daniel “Danny” Holmes, 62, passed away June 3, 2021, in Covington. The family received friends on June 9, at Munford Funeral Home-Munford Chapel and the service was held June 10. Munford Funeral Home-Munford Chapel had charge.

LARRY JORDAN
Larry Jordan, 62, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Munford on June 3, 2021. Memorial services will be held at a later date, hosted by a friend of the family, where his friends and loved ones will celebrate his life.

LUTHER ROY OVERSTREET
Luther Roy Overstreet, 72, of Covington, went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2021 at Methodist North Hospital. Funeral service was held June 14 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home in Millington with interment held at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home.

VICTOR LORENZO STEWART
Deacon Victor Lorenzo Stewart, 62, of Millington, passed away on June 4, 2021 at Methodist Hospital North in Memphis. There was a walk through viewing for Deacon Stewart June 11 with a memorial service at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 8801 Bethuel Road, in Millington. Interment followed at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge.

TERRI WILLIS
Terri Willis, 64, of Munford, passed away on June 2, 2021. The family received friends June 8 at the Munford Chapel of Munford Funeral Home. Munford Funeral Home-Munford Chapel had charge.

MARGARETTE JEAN WILKERSON
Margarette Jean Wilkerson, 75, passed away June 9, 2021. The family received friends June 14 until the service at the Millignton Chapel. Interment followed in Memorial Gardens. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge.
