EVELYN JUANITA BECKETT

Evelyn Juanita Beckett, 89, passed away February 27, 2022, in Memphis.  Mrs. Beckett was a member of Covington Assembly of God Church and a retired purchasing agent for the Naval hospital. Visitation for Mrs. Beckett was held March 2 until services officiated by Rev. Ed Hawkins, all at Covington Assembly of God Church.  Interment followed in R. H. Munford Cemetery. The family asks that any memorials be made to Covington Assembly of God Church.

MARY RAYE BOYKIN

Mary Raye Boykin, 83, of Millington, passed away February 19, 2022. Funeral service was held Feb. 28 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home with interment held at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home had charge.

Brandon Keith Burkhalter Jr., 19, of Burlison, passed away on February 24, 2022. The family received friends on March 1. A service was held March 2 at Munford Funeral Home-Munford Chapel with interment held in Randolph Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel had charge.

MELVA DEDAN McCLAIN

Melva Dean McClain, 78, of Munford, passed away on February 24, 2022. Services were held at the Munford Funeral Home-Munford Chapel March 1, with a visitation until the service. Munford Funeral Home

JACKIE LYNN McKEE 

Jackie Lynn Mckee, passed away on February 26, 2022 at his home in Millington, after a long and courageous three year fight with cancer. Funeral services were held March 8 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home with interment held in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. 

GARY LYNN GOIN

Gary Lynn Goin, 68, of Atoka, passed away February 25, 2022 at his home. The family received friends Feb. 27 at Munford Funeral Home-Munford Chapel. A service was held Feb. 28 at the Munford Chapel. The interment was held in Helen Crigger cemetery.

LINDA KAY GALES GREER

Mrs. Linda Kay Gales Greer, 69,  of Millington, passed away on February 22, 2022 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. There was a visitation for Mrs. Greer March 4 at Rosemark Church of God in Christ, in Millington  and on March 5 with a memorial service at Rosemark Church. Interment followed at the church cemetery in Arlington. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge.

DELORIS MAYOMA JONES

Deloris Mayoma Jones, 80, of Brighton, passed away February 28, 2022. The family received friends March 4 at the Munford Chapel. A service was held March 5 at the Munford Chapel. Interment was in Helen Crigger Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel had charge.

BRET ANTHONY MUSEKAMP

Bret Anthony Musekamp, 54, of Burlison, passed away February 28, 2022. The family received friends March 5 at the Munford Chapel until the service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Paws & Claws. Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel had charge.

NORMA WELLS ROSS

Norma Wells Ross, 71, passed away February 21, 2022. The family received friends Feb. 24 with a service all at the Millington Chapel. Interment followed in Arlington Cemetery in Arlington. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge.

ROBERT ‘BOB’ STEWART JR.

Robert (Bob) Stewart, Jr., 89, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2022 at his home in Rosemark. The family received friends Feb. 27 until the service at the Millington Chapel. Interment followed in New Salem Cemetery. DORIS JEAN JACOBS VEAZEY

Doris Jean Jacobs Veazey, 88 and widow of Charles Hays Veazey, passed away on February 23, 2022. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Veazey Crawford and her husband Bob of Munford, two grandchildren, Chelsea Crawford of Nashville and Jake Crawford of Memphis, her brother Gordon Jacobs of Halls, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother James Jacobs of Memphis and her sister, Peggy Jacobs Rodgers, of Halls. Doris was born to J.T. and Ruby Darty Jacobs on February 11, 1934 in Dyersburg. She was a proud graduate of Friendship High School, Class of 1953, and married her husband later that year, shortly after Charles Hays returned from Naval service in the Korean War. They moved to San Diego, California, joining both Veazey brothers and had their only daughter. Then the three brothers and families moved to Millington in 1963. Doris retired after 30 years of service in the accounting department of the Navy Exchange. She was an avid, award-winning seamstress and quilter; her quilt block of the old Millington Central High School still hangs as part of the “City of Millington Quilt” displayed at City Hall. She was active in several clubs and organizations including the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Millington Quilters, and achieved the rank of Past Worthy Matron of the Millington chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Doris volunteered her time in a number of ways, including supporting the library at her grandchildren’s school, Tipton-Rosemark Academy. For decades, Doris regularly attended the First United Methodist Church of Millington. Private family graveside services were held at Friendship United Methodist Church in Friendship.
