Charles “Ross” Landrum

CHARLES ‘ROSS’ LANDRUM
Charles “Ross” Landrum, lovingly known as “Paw Paw”, entered Glory on March 4, 2018, at the age of 71 , surrounded by family. Ross proudly served his country in the United States Navy for over 13 years. He was a native of Birmingham, Alabama, and spent the last three decades with his wife of 41 years, Paula, in Millington, TN. Those close to Ross will remember his animated laugh and endless jokes. He could invoke laughter in every situation. Ross was redeemed by the Blood of Jesus on July 4, 1980, and would spend his life sharing his redemption story as an active member of New Hope Baptist Church. Ross volunteered much of his time spreading the word of God everywhere he went, using his vibrant personality as an image of a changed life. Ross never met a stranger and left a lasting impact on so many people. He was a prominent spokesman in many town and city events. Ross boldly went before City Council on behalf of prisoners advocating the right for them to have personal Bibles in their cells. He spoke out for many without a voice to make a difference for the future as Millington was forming a new school system. Ross loved literature and was a published author. He was very outspoken with the beliefs he held strongly. Paw Paw (Ross) was delighted being a grand-father. With Ross as the head of the Landrum family, Christmas was celebrated year round. He is survived by his wife Paula, 2 sons, Jeremy (Aprill) and Jonathan, daughter Jennifer; brother Sidney Wayne Landrum of New Mexico and 13 grandchildren: Elysa; Lee; Cheyenne; Patrick; Damien; Luke; Jeffrey; Jade; Ethan; Kyla; Ayden; Zachary and Myles. Ross was laid to rest in his native Birmingham, Alabama. May we never be in too big a hurry to hear one more Navy story. A Memorial Service will be held March 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church; located at 7003 Raleigh-Millington Road in Millington. In lieu of flowers the family is asking a donation be made in Ross’ name to Church Bible Publishers (www.churchbiblepublishers.com/product/bible-paper- donation ) for the continuing publication of the Word of God. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
