MARION JOYCE MOORE BIBB
Marion Joyce Moore Bibb, 89, of Munford, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and child of God, passed away peacefully March 10, 2021. Joyce was born March 6, 1932 in Decatur County’s Sardis Ridge community to Helen and John William Moore. Along with her siblings, Doris, Larry, and Mary, she grew up in Decatur County and in Bono, Arkansas. Her childhood was spent voraciously reading, playing on the farm, and avidly rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals, all of which would become lifelong passions. She played basketball at Bono High School and graduated first in her class at the age of sixteen. She moved to Memphis and studied at Draughon’s Business School. Joyce worked in Memphis at Levy’s Department Store and later in Covington at the Farmer’s Home Administration. In 1951, she married William E. Bibb of Munford. Joyce and William had five children, as well as numerous dogs, cats, cows, ponies, and chickens. Joyce was proud of her children, all of whom graduated from Munford High School. She was also proud of her ten grandchildren and her four great-grandchildren. Joyce was a fixture at countless ballgames, plays, concerts, recitals, and Bible School programs. Joyce became a secretary at Memphis Naval Air Station in 1967, retiring after 25 years with the government. However she continued to work, including a position with the Munford Public Library, as well as volunteer regularly with Meals on Wheels. Joyce was a longtime member of the Munford Presbyterian Church and spent 25 years as the church secretary. She loved her Sunday school class and taught the adult ladies class for many years (it was later joined by the men too). She was very active with Presbyterian Women, taught “prayer” classes at Presbytery and enjoyed church trips to Louisville. She later became an active member of the congregation at Rosemark Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed Sunday School and fellowship. Joyce loved her family, her church, and her Bible; every Saturday night would find Joyce pouring over Scripture preparing for her lesson. Joyce enjoyed visiting with family in person or on the phone, as long as the Cardinals weren’t playing at the time. She also loved her pets, crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, engaging in civics, and gardening. During her life, Joyce supported many charities, including St. Jude, WKNO, and organizations for veterans service and animal conservation. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Doris, her brother Larry, and her husband William. Joyce is survived by her sister Mary; children Terry (Pete), Dixie, Buddy (Sally), Johnny (Benita), and Joseph (Christine); grandchildren Eric (Kira), Rachel, Peter, Leighann, Marion, Austin (Samantha), Jack, Claire, Audra, and Leah; and great-grandchildren Lucy, Trip, Liam, and Nolan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Rosemark Presbyterian Church, the Munford Public Library, WKNO Memphis, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Linda Michelle Cooper, 55, of Drummonds, passed away at Methodist North Hospital on March 8, 2021. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Linda is survived by her husband, Carter Cooper; four sons, Adam Cooper (Lindsey), John Robert Cooper (Amber), Joseph Maurice Cooper and William Ivory Cooper (Abbie); five grandchildren, James Waylon Cooper, Rosie Lynn Luttman, Willow Michelle Cooper, Kyle Perkins and Kaitlyn Perkins; and three sisters, Rebecca Sanders, Tammy Poole and Patricia Cooper; She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Betty Jean Miles. Family received March 13 until the services all at the Munford Funeral Home-Munford Chapel. Interment followed at Poplar Grove Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home had charge.

Reverend Cobbie Harold McMurry, 83, of Drummonds, passed away peacefully at his home February 25, 2021. Reverend McMurry was a Minister of the Gospel, serving a number of churches in the West Tennessee area. All services were private. Munford Funeral Home had charge.

Glenn R. Patrick Jr., 96, of Millington, passed away March 6, 2021. He was a tool and die machinist and a US Navy veteran who served during WW II. He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Larry) Zipler of Millington; sons, Paul Patrick of Millington, Michael (Wanda) Patrick of Millington, and Terry (Sheila) Patrick of Memphis; step-daughter, Diane (Larry) Davis of Lake City, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren. The family received friends March 11 until the service at the Millington Chapel. Interment followed in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge.
