WILLIAM TYRONE ADAMS

William Tyrone Adams, 60, of St. Louis, Mo., passed away March 6, 2021 in Millington. There was a walk-through viewing for Mr. Adams on March 20 with a memorial service at Jefferson Mortuary, Inc., in Millington. Interment followed at Kings Hill Cemetery in Covington. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge.

MARY ELIZABETH SAYLORS DOYLE

Mary Elizabeth Saylors Doyle, 86, of Millington, was called home by our Lord and Savior on March 15, 2021. She died of natural causes after suffering from a short-term illness. The family received guests on March 18 at Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel  until the service. Interment  followed in Hood Cemetery in Somerville. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorials be made to: Rosemark Baptist Church 9037 E Kerrville Road at Rosemark, TN 38053.

MARY FITZ

Mary Fitz, 74, of Atoka, passed away March 4, 2021 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. There was a viewing for Ms Fitz on March 7 before the graveside service at St. John Community Cemetery, in Atoka. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge. 

ROBERT HAMBLIN

Robert Hamblin, 80, of Brighton, passed away March 13, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis. He was an Air Force Veteran and Retired Captain for NAS Fire Department. Mr. Hamblin was Past Master of Tipton Lodge No. 226, a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Shriner and a certified EMT. Always thinking of others, he was often found mowing his neighbor’s yard or heading up the neighborhood watch. He dedicated his life to serving wherever there was a need. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Corlious E. Hamblin; one daughter, Teri Schneider (Jeff); one son, Robert “Bobby” Hamblin, Jr. (Traci); three sisters, Betty Whitehurst, Barbara Hanks, Helen Knight, four grandchildren, Christy Gross, Amber Schneider, Taylor Hamblin, A.J. Hamblin; and four great grandchildren, Wesley Stanton, Jayden Gross, Nathan Stanton and Myla Gross. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Elizabeth Hamblin; and two brothers, James Hamblin and Willie Gene Hamblin. The family received friends until the service March 20 all at Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children. Munford Funeral Home had charge. 

JIMMY DONALD MUSIC 

Jimmy Donald Music, 85, of Millington,  passed away at his home on March 15, 2021. He was born November 15, 1935, the only child of Margaurite and Kenneth Music. He was born in Drummonds, and moved to Memphis. Jim is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ginny Nixon Music; his loving daughter, Deborah Dunn of Memphis; step-son, Rick McCullough (Barbara) ; the light of his life grandson, Jason Dunn (Ashley) of Niwot, Colo.; four sisters, Faye Runyan of Arlington, Betty Wallace (Billy) of Arlington, Margaret Chitwood of Moscow, Martha Music of Sarasota, Fla.; brother, John Bryant of Memphis; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Music retired as Deputy Chief of Memphis Police Department after 37 years and was a very dedicated servant and loved his job as a police officer. He enjoyed telling his many stories of events during his tour of duty with the department. During his career, he served as commander of the Memphis Tact Unit; Motorcycle Unit and many other divisions of the department. He earned many friends during his tenure (and probably many enemies). He had many hobbies, some of which were motorcycling that he and his buddies toured all over the United States.; baseball at USA Stadium where he sold tickets until his death and competing with his wife on the computer EVERY night mostly playing YAHTZEE – he won almost always. Mr. Music graduated from Humes High School where he claimed his name to fame was that he graduated in 1953 with Elvis, with whom he was good friends. Jim cherished his friendship with his friends and loved his family. A very special thanks , appreciation an gratitude to his doctor of more than 30 years, Dr. Robert Kraus and his brother, Gordon Kraus. A special thanks to Dr. Boyd Argo, his dentist and good friend. Without these doctors’ loving attention and special care, his life would not made his 85 years of age!! The family received friends at Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel on March 18 until the service. Officiating was his good friend Dr. Ken Uselton. Graveside services were private. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge. 

CLARIE HUFFMAN PRESLEY

Clarie Huffman Presley, 67, of Millington passed away March 13, 2021. Visitation was held March 22 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home in MIllington with the funeral service held at the same location. Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home had charge. 

KERRY DANIEL SANDEFER

Kerry Daniel Sandefer, 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 16, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. The family received friends March 19 until services all in Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel. Munford Funeral Home had charge. 

LISA SHAW

Lisa Shaw, 48, of Millington, passed away March 4, 2021 at Magnolia Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. There was a walk-through viewing for Mrs. Shaw on March 13, with a memorial service at Jefferson Mortuary in Millington. Interment followed at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge. 

GEORGE WASHINGTON SHIPP

Pastor George Washington Shipp, 84, of Munford, passed away March 16, 2021 at Cordova Wellness & Rehabilitation Center in Cordova. There was a walk-through viewing for Pastor Shipp on March 22 and on March 23  a memorial service for immediate family only was held at Jefferson Mortuary, in Millington with interment at Northridge Woodhaven in Millington. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge.

JANICE ANN SWEAT

Janice Ann Sweat, 64, longtime forklift operator at Carrier Air Conditioning passed away March 14, 2021. The family received friends March 20 until the service at the Millington Chapel. Munford Funeral Home MiIlington Chapel had charge. 

ANDREW ‘DREW’ MACEO DEVONTE TERRY

Andrew Maceo Devonte Terry “Drew”, 24, of Covington, passed away March 11 at Baptist Hospital Tipton. There was a walk-through March 19 at First Baptist Church Keeling in, Stanton. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge.
