ALLEN R. BARGANIER

Allen R. Barganier, 71, retired Baptist preacher and retired from DuPont passed away August 26, 2021. Allen was a Vietnam veteran; an avid outdoorsman; an accomplished competitive shooter; Olympic coach, and a NRA Certified Coach for sport shooting. Allen was a loving husband, father and grandfather who never knew a stranger. He loved to talk about Jesus to everyone he met. Allen was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Whitlock Barganier; parents, JB Barganier and Jane Shiles; brother, Gary Barganier; grandchild, Mikey Akins. Allen is survived by his wife, Anita Smith Barganier; daughters, April (Doug) Jennings of Oakland, and Amy Kellum of Millington; son, Taylor Brewer of Munford; sister, Gloria Westerman of Atoka; brothers, Leslie Barganier, Glenn Barganier and Michael Barganier; seven grandchildren, Amber (Zach) Cowan, Olivia Akins, Bryson Brewer, Hannah Brewer, Ryleigh Brewer, and Garyn Kellum; two great-grandchildren, Athena Cowan and Zoey Cowan. The family received friends Aug. 31 with a service Sept. 1 all at the Millington Chapel. Interment followed in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge.

SHIRLEY A. BUCHANAN

Shirley A. Buchanan, 76, of Drummonds, passed away on August 29, 2021 at Methodist Hospital – North in Memphis. A memorial service was held on Sept. 4 at Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. in Millington. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge.

IVA LEE COULTER

Iva Lee Coulter, 88, of Millington, passed away August 31, 2021. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nadine Jones and Augustine Brown and her brothers, Edward Butts, Jim Butts, Eugene Butts, Cornelius Butts and Louis Butts.She is survived by her sons, Allen Coulter (Melinda) of Millington, TN and Mark Coulter (Stacy) of Millington, TN; sisters, Isabell Free of Kenosha, WI, Pauline Hart of Moro, AR and Betty Klenk of Munford, TN; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. The family received friends Sept. 7 until the service at the Millington Chapel. Interment followed in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel had charge.
LEADNER HOLMES JR.Leadner Holmes, Jr., 74, of Tucson, Ariz., passed away on August 25, 2021 in Tucson. There was a walk-through visitation for Mr. Holmes on Sept. 7 with a memorial service at Jefferson Mortuary, Inc., in Millington. Interment will talke place on Monday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m., West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis. Please wear your mask and maintain a safe distance. Jefferson Mortuary, Inc. had charge.

THOMAS FRANKYN ITTERLY

Thomas Franklyn Itterly was born to Franklyn and Lillian Itterly on October 1, 1952 in Waterloo, N.Y. Tom enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served from 1971 to 1975. Tom worked as a self-employed fitness personal trainer. Tom’s passion was personal training, weightlifting, airgun shooting and family. Tom passed in peace on August 14, 2021. He is survived by his wife Susan Itterly of 47 years, Shana and David Tarry (daughter and son in law), son Kevin Itterly and two grandsons Derek Edwards and Brian McAnulty. A memorial service will be held September 11 at from 1 to 3 p.m. at Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel. 

MARY ELIZABETH JONES

Mary Elizabeth Jones, born on October 24, 1966, was called home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2021. She leaves behind a loving and devoted husband, Terry, who was by her side when she passed peacefully in her sleep. She also leaves behind four children, Ashlyn Jones, Karrah Van Horn & husband Alex, Tyler Jones, Trevor Jones; two stepchildren, Whitney Cash & husband Mark, Deuce Jones & wife Sarah; grandchildren Mason Van Horn, Ainsley Cash, Rowan Cash, Harper Cash; three brothers, Bobby Farrah & wife Traci, Scott Farrah & wife Sara, Patrick Farrah & wife Bonnie and their families, as well as many beloved friend and extended family members. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Bobby and Nora Farrah. She was loved dearly and will be missed greatly by so many- especially the children whose lives she poured into at church and the schools. She truly had a servant’s heart and put others above herself always. Mary was a light to all who knew her, and her smile brought joy to every room she entered. She loved the Lord first. She loved her husband and family deeply and was passionate about serving her church and teaching students. She will be remembered always and missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Mary Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund for MMSD, a scholarship fund to help support the needs of children in her community.  

BETTY JOYCE JOYNER

Betty Joyce Joyner, 71, of Brighton, passed away August 27, 2021. The family received friends Sept. 1 with a service Sept. 2 all at the Munford Chapel. Interment followed in Helen Crigger Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel had charge.

JOYCE CULLUM JOYNER

Joyce Cullum Joyner, 80, passed away August 29, 2021 at Holly Springs Rehabilitation Center in Holly Springs, Miss. She graduated from Munford High School. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children. Munford Funeral Home had charge.

LISA SHANTA POWERS

Lisa Shanta Powers, 59, of Drummonds, passed away August 29, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital-Bartlett. The family received friends Sept. 5 for a graveside service in Morrison Cemetery. Mrs. PIn lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel had charge. 

JOAN FLOYD SIMS

Joan Floyd Sims, 80, passed away peacefully August 20, 2021 at her home in Millington.  Joan was born in Paden, Miss., on June 15, 1941, to James Casey ‘JC’ and Vivian Floyd.  Joan and her husband Butch raised four children in many locations moving as part of a Marine Corps family but ended up back in Millington after Butch retired from the military. After retiring from the Millington Telephone Co., Joan & her husband Butch spent their days fishing, bowling, ceramics, gardening, raising chickens, traveling & enjoying their greatest joy and past time, playing with their grandchildren & great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Everett ‘Butch’ Sims of Millington, daughters, Teresa (Ron) Wells of Millington, Barbara Sanders of Plano, Texas, Rebecca Seivwright of Millington, & son, Charles Edward (Michelle) Massey of Plano. She also is survived by nine grandchildren,16 great grandchildren, father, JC Floyd, brothers, Anthony (Gloria) Floyd, Billy (Phyllis) Floyd & sister Janet Floyd, all of Millington. She was preceded in death by her mother Vivian Mae Hart Floyd, brother, Casey Floyd, Son-In-Law Ian Seivwright, grandson Ian Charles Seivwright and  great granddaughter Tegan Lynn Seivwright. Joan was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Millington. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church-Millington.

J.B. Staggs,90, of Munford, passed away August 26, 2021. The family received friends Sept. 3 at the Munford Chapel until the service. Interment followed in Helen Crigger Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel had charge.

Rhonda Joyce Wolfe, 54, of Drummonds, passed away August 24, 2021, at Morristown Hamblen Hospital. The family received friends Aug. 30 at the Munford Chapel until the service. Interment followed in Helen Crigger Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel had charge.

Matthew Lane Wright, 32, of Drummonds, passed away August 26, 2021. Mr. Wright was a 2008 Munford High School Graduate. The family received friends Aug. 31 at the Munford Chapel until the service. Interment followed in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Munford Funeral Home Munford Chapel had charge.
