The Millington Trojans jumped out to a big lead early last Thursday against their District 14-3A rivals the Cordova Wolves April 23 at Miles Park. The Trojans scored 9 runs in the first two innings to seize control of the contest. The Trojans prevailed 13-2 with Aaron Peerey getting the win in a complete game effort. Peerey’s run support came in the bottom of the first with the Trojans scoring 5 runs. Ahead 1-0, Millington outfielder Kameron Middleton smacked a single to drive in a pair of runners. After a passed ball allowed Jordan Tincher to score, Noah Graham added to the Millington advantage with an RBI base hit to make the score 5-0. (Above) Graham was thrown out trying to steal second base to conclude the frame. The Trojans scored four more runs in the second inning to go ahead 9-0. Down the stretch, Zane Adams’ Trojans outscored the Wolves 4-2 to end the game in five innings.
