Star Staff Reports

Olive and Florence invite you over for a fun night at Abandoned Antiques for the Playhouse 51 production of Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple (Female Version).”

Of course, Olive’s place will be a total hot mess and Flo will be frantically

busy trying to clean it up but that won’t stop the hilarious exchanges between these two completely opposites plus their friends and neighbors.

Performances will be Thursday and Friday nights May 25 and 26 and June 1 and 2 at 7 p.m. on the north side of Abandoned Antiques on Highway 51 in Millington.  Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for children under 18, Seniors, and Military — cash, check, or credit card at the north entrance.  For this production, advance tickets will not be available.

Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple (Female Version)” is a time-honored, award-winning comedy of two opposites trying to learn to get along and cope with each other after their separate marriages dissolve.  Olive, the messy, disorganized, sports fanatic, devil-may-care news producer, invites fuss-budget, allergic, suicidal, OCD for cleanliness freak Flo to move in and share her apartment.

Now, who didn’t foresee that not working?  However, it’s a situation that playwright Neil Simon explored to its fullest laugh-out-loud absurdity.

Join the show for one – or more – of these performances, have an enjoyable evening, snack on delicious Linda Evans’ concessions, and show your support of Playhouse 51, Millington’s Community Theater, and Abandoned Antiques on Highway 51.
