The Brighton Cardinals and Millington Trojans opened up district 2024 with a doubleheader at the new-look Cardinal Field. Originally scheduled for Monday at Millington, rain forced a two-game set in Brighton. The Cards won the doubleheader against Trojans 10-0 and 9-0 respectively led by pitchers MJ Parimore and Jaxon Tillman in the first game. The duo combined for the shutout. And Cardinal hurler Brady Ray had a no hitter vs. the Trojans in the second game to start Brighton 2-0 in league play.
