Star Staff Reports

On Friday, the Patriot Bank family came together for a bittersweet moment.

Several employees from the various branches made their way to Millington to celebrate the career of Sandra Hill and give her a proper sendoff into retirement.

Among those honoring Hill were Keith Barger, Vice Chairman of Patriot Bank, who made several presentations to her. Also on hand was Charles Ennis, Chairman of the Board for Patriot Bank. He recalled impactful moments from Hill’s career. Lillie Stollings, Millington Market Executive, shared how she’ll miss her colleague.

The day of June 30 marked the celebration for Hill at Patriot Bank in Millington located at 8376 Highway 51 North. With more than 45 years in banking and 22 years with Patriot, Hill retired officially on July 1. “Sandra has been with the bank since its beginning in a 1100 square foot office,” Ennis recalled. “She was the bank’s first teller. She has helped the bank achieve many milestones sooner than expected and watched the bank grow to more than $470 million in assets and nine branches.

“We have been fortunate to have had Sandra on our team,” he added. “She is loved by customers, fellow workers, and management. Her faith is reflected in every encounter and her warm personality is evident the minute you walk through the door. We wish her the very best in her future endeavors.”

Hill began her banking career in 1978 at First State Bank where she worked as a teller, teller supervisor, and branch manager for nineteen years.

From 1997-2001, she transitioned to Barretville Bank & Trust as a teller, head teller, loan processor and loan officer. She joined Patriot Bank in October 2001 and served in multiple positions, including teller, head teller, deposit services officer, and CRA officer.

The celebration of Hill’s career with her colleagues and customers took place Friday at the Millington branch. Hill is married to William Hill. They reside in Brighton, and attend Mount Tipton CME Church.
