Dozens and dozens of event goers made their way through the halls of the Apostolic Pentecostal Temple Saturday afternoon.
They were there to grab a copy of ‘Permission to be Healed: God’s Grace to Heal Us’ and visit with the author Diane Norwood. Humbled by the turnout and reception of the book, Norwood seized the moment to shine the spotlight on Pastor Frank Melton and his wife Lydia for being gracious hosts.
Then the focus was turned toward Diane’s nephew DJ who illustrated the cover and the support of all her family including the voice that welcomed her back to life in her sister Alma.
“The mission of the book was to express what God put inside of me, what He has done for me,” Norwood said. “It all started out in 2017 when I literally died for 12 minutes. From that God begin to birth permission. ‘You have permission.’
“While I was laying there in a coma, I heard God say, ‘I am taking your place,’” she continued. “‘You have permission to be healed.’ At that moment I heard my sister calling my name. ‘Diane! Diane! Breathe!’ That is where this book is actually birthed from.”
The foundation of the book was to bear witness to God’s healing and to provide a guide for everyone’s personal journey toward healing. Norwood said the book provides insight into the moments of divine intervention that changed her life forever surviving her massive heart attack in 2017.

She invites readers to explore the depths of faith and to open their hearts to the possibility of healing — both physically and spiritually.
Norwood said her book will hopefully give readers a deeper understanding of God’s generosity regarding healing.
“After reading this book they’re going to come forward with complete healing,” she said. “I’ve already had people saying I’ve read the book and healing started to take place. I know that healing is going to take place as they read this book.”
Norwood is the founder and executive director of Just For Christ Global Outreach Ministries, where she brings over four decades of ministry experience. She married Arthur Norwood at the age of 20 and they have more than 40 years of marriage, partnership and shared devotion.
Norwood’s walk in life continues after receiving a second chance seven years ago.

People from all walks of her life showed up at 2774 Bartlett Road to share in her milestone of authoring a book and giving a lasting testimony.
“I am so elated of the crowd that came out today and I am so overwhelmed with the result that I’ve gotten from it already just with the soft-run of the book,” she said. “I just praise God for allowing this to be born through me. It’s something I believe we’re going to take to the nations. Not because I wrote the book, because it’s strictly a word of God. Something that we can rely on for our healing.
“When we think about God healing us, it is more than thought to have faith,” Norwood concluded. “Healing comes from the whole, entire universe. God pours into us this whole, entire universe. It’s called for us to manifest the miracle, the workings of God.”
