playhouse-51-logo-300x205-3010701Playhouse 51, Millington’s Community Theater, celebrates the holidays with The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson.

Performances for this holiday production covers two weekends; Dec. 5-6 and 12-13 at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays Dec. 7 and 14 at 2 p.m.

Mother has to direct the pageant this year because Mrs. Armstrong broke her leg. But that doesn’t mean that bossy Mrs. Armstrong stays out of it.

On top of that, Mother is confronted with the Herdmans, the six meanest kids in town who never go to church. But Charlie told Leroy there’s free food at church and that was the wrong thing to tell Herdmans.

They showed up for auditions loud, obnoxious, pushy and whamming other kids at will. And they ended up playing all the main parts. Pure chaos is the only way to describe all the rehearsals until the Pageant on Christmas Eve. Suddenly, the Herdmans seemed to know the true meaning of the Christmas Story which made this The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

The show is directed by Kate Armitage and stars all the kids in the world dressed in bedsheets, bathrobes and whatever they could scrounge up. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

Come celebrate Christmas with The Best Christmas Pageant Ever December 5,6,7,12, 13 and 14 at Playhouse 51 in the Harvell Civic Center, 8077 Wilkinsville Road. No reservation needed.
