Star Staff Reports
Playhouse 51 in Millington will hold open auditions for “In-Laws, Outlaws, and Other People (That Should Be Shot)” by Steve Franco on Friday, September 30, 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, October 1, 10 a.m. to Noon at Harvell Civic Center, 8077 Wilkinsville Road. The cast calls for 7 men and 7 women of varying ages from teenagers up. It’s 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and the Douglas family is busily getting ready for their annual family dinner.  All their quirky relatives and a few nosy neighbors begin to arrive as well as two bumbling and nervous robbers who are looking for a place to briefly hide out.  The robbers find themselves reluctantly in charge of an ever-increasing number of outrageous characters as hostages.  The laughs build along with the crowd as it becomes confusing who’s holding who hostage but all ends well with a heart-warming ‘tis the season’ ending. “In-Laws, Outlaws, and Other People (That Should Be Shot)” plays December 2-4 and 9-11, sponsored by The Patriot Bank and Patriot Bank Mortgage.
