Millington Lions Club raises money to provide sight and hearing services to the needy as well as supports projects within the community. Millington Lions donated two cases of Mascot pecans to the Tennessee Baptist Double B Boys Ranch (Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes) at 9224 Quito Road in Millington. Their mission statement is “Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes envisions and strives to be a ministry to children and families that leads them to become whole persons in Christ through faith, hope and love”. The residential program is designed for boys ages 11-17 who are unable to live at home due to conflicts between guardians and the boys. The Ranch is a totally donor-supported ministry and does not receive any funding from the government; therefore, they depend on the community to provide food and other necessities. Per C.S. Lewis, ‘Children are not a distraction from more important work, they are the most important work”.
