COLLIERVILLE — Graduating the school’s all-time leading scorer Alex Anderson was supposed to set the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels back for several years.

Anderson was a two-time Mr. Basketball Finalist for Division II-A and is now playing at South Alabama. The 2021 Rebels made the State final four and several other talented players departed from that squad because of graduation.

TRA Head Coach Cedric Anderson knew coming into the 2021-22 campaign he would have to rebuild with a foundation of the senior trio Alexander Neon-Blue, Thano Sinis and Tyler Byrd. The corps. guided their young team one win away from Sub-State taking on the St. George’s Gryphons Feb. 15 in the St. George’s Gymnasium.

The Gryphons grabbed a double-digit lead that TRA cut to 61-56 late in the four quarter. But the Rebels ran out of gas and time leading to St. George’s advancing 72-64 to the next round.
