Remembering Haley Reedy: Community mourns the loss of 15-year-old

At the first football game since her passing, Haley Reedy’s peers placed up a banner in front of the Student Section in her honor.

On September 11, tragedy struck the Millington and Millington Central Middle High School communities. 

Haley Reedy, 15, was shot and died from her wound that Sunday. The Millington Police Department is still investigating the incident and the details that led up to her death. 

One thing is for certain, Reedy’s peers were rocked by the sudden passing of their classmate. 

According to the initial report, a girl was found dead with a gunshot wound after the MPD responded to a shooting call around 2 p.m., in the 5000 block of Clear Creek Drive.

According to the statement from MPD Chief Chris Stokes, “several individuals including a female juvenile with a fatal gunshot wound.” Family members identified the victim as Haley Reedy.

Reedy was a sophomore  at Millington Central Middle High School and a member of the MCMHS color guard.

Stokes said in the release, “Detectives with the Millington Police Department processed the crime scene and are collecting evidence and conducting interviews.”
