The Millington Trojans Basketball teams made the trip up Highway 51 on Dec. 3 to take on the Ripley Tigers
The Trojans earned a sweep over the Lady Tigers and Tigers by almost identical scores in the Ripley Gymnasium. In the first matchup, the Lady Trojans won 57-37.
Arianna Whiten led the way with 16 points and 4 steals. Nakirah Miller added 9 points, 4 steals and 4 rebounds in the winning effort. Lady Trojan point guard Alissa Carpenter dropped 7 points to go along with her 4 assists. Finally, Alexis Williamson had 6 points and 8 rebounds.
Then it was time for the boys and the Trojans won 56-38. Tayshaun Dye led the way with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Dye was one of three players in double figures.
Cody McGhee had 13 and Aiden Maclin added 11 points. Millington big man Tayshun Bland was described as a beast on the boards against the Tigers with 12 rebounds and he had 3 assists.
Trojans guard Andre Tyler had a well rounded game with 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.
